Magnet Theater internships are opportunities for students to earn credit toward classes in return for working at the theater, training center, or other special events. Interns typically accumulate credits through regularly scheduled shifts performing various roles, then apply them in lieu of payment for classes at the Training Center.
How do I participate?
Any Magnet student who has completed level one is eligible for the internship program, though a teacher recommendation is required for an application to be considered. Download the internship application at http://www.magnettheater.com/internapp.doc (under “Contact | Internship Application” from the Magnet’s website). Then email the form to registrar@magnettheater.com.
MEGAWATT – Wednesdays 8:00PM, 9:00PM, & 10:00PM
MUSICAL MEGAWATT – Tuesdays 8:30PM
What is Megawatt?
Megawatt is a weekly showcase of the Magnet’s signature house teams! Six of the teams perform every Wednesday and two musical teams perform every Tuesday. All Megawatt performers have graduated from the Magnet Training Center and are lead by a Magnet assigned director. Megawatt teams perform a variety of forms, styles, and structures – all of which are fueled by hilarious improvisers playing at the top of their intelligence.

How can I participate?
To be considered for a Megawatt team, you must complete all six levels of the Magnet Training Program. Likewise, for Musical Megawatt, you must complete all three musical improv core classes. After completion, you become eligible for an invitation to audition. Auditions are held periodically throughout the year. As you complete Level Six, you will find out more information about the audition process and the next audition scheduled.
