Nikita Burdein is a New York City based Improviser, Actor, Writer, and Filmmaker. Born in the USSR and raised in Chicago, Nikita combines his pre-teen girl sensibilities with Tolstoyan Pragmatism (an obscure school of philosophy that does not exist), and a passion for all things film, television, comedy, theater, dance, music, and art.
Nikita attended NYU for Film and Television Production and has worked behind the scenes as an editor, producer, and researcher at LogoTV, Nickelodeon, BBC, IFC, NBC, Comedy Central, and Mother New York advertising agency. He is a founding member of the childrens puppet troupe, Penny and the Puppettes, as well as a member of indie improv teams Fancy Man and Petting Zoo.
Nikita has studied improv comedy and sketch writing at the Magnet Theater and Upright Citizens Brigade Theater with wise and incredibly funny teachers Michael Lutton, Kirk Damato, Michael Martin, Frank Spitznagel, Amber Petty, Morgan Phillips, Kate Riley, Abra Tabak, Ben Rameaka, Achilles Stamatelaky, Brandon Gardner, Brandon Bassham, Chelsea Clarke, Lydia Hensler and Erik Tanouye.
Nikita is thrilled to be a member of the Magnet Musical Improv team, Wonderland.
