Bio
Peter McNerney served for three years as the Artistic Director of the Magnet Theater where he has performed in and directed over 30 productions including such notables as "The Armando Diaz Experience", "Tiny Spectacular" and "Statues of Liberty". Peter is the co-writter and director of theater/sketch comedy fusioneers Sax & Dixon, who have been featured at Ars Nova NYC and Montreal's Just for Laughs Festival. Peter serves as the Associate Artistic Director and Casting Director for the nationally respected education and media company, "The Story Pirates" with whom he has performed in and directed over a hundred shows in schools and theaters across the country. With the Story Pirates Peter has written and performed on "Absolutely Mindy!" on Kid's Place Live on SiriusXM Radio and through a partnership with Penguin Publishing has co-written and performed all over the country in the interactive touring shows "Theodore Boone and The Thrill of Rights" and "The Ranger's Apprentice: Escape to Areluen", based on the young adult series by John Grisham and John Flanagan, respectively. At the Magnet Theater Peter currently co-stars with Nick Kanellis in the improv duo "Trike" (TimeOut New York Critic's Pick), performs with "The Magnet Theater Touring Company" and hosts the late night improv competition show "Inspirado". Peter is a member of the improv faculty at the Magnet Theater teaching the conservatory level classes. He is from Winnetka, IL, graduated from Northwestern University and currently lives in Brooklyn with his beautiful and hilarious wife Beth Newell.
