Willy Appelman



Willy is a comedian, actor, producer and writer based in NYC. He can be seen hosting "Inspirado: The Only Improv Competition In The World", every Thursday night at 11pm at The Magnet. He also writes and performs in videos with

Willy grew up in the Green Mountains of Vermont and graduated from Skidmore College. He recently co-wrote and starred in a webseries for Origin Films and can be seen in the upcoming short, "Under Your Mattress". His short film, "Tall Tale Tanner", produced by Curious Three Productions, won Best Short & Audience Pick at The 2010 Chicago United Film Festival. One of Willy's favorite credits includes dressing up in a shark costume and walking around a party for a Diamond company; during that party he was punched in the 'shark mouth' by a now famous TV personality.

He's trained at NYU's Tisch School of Drama, The Second City, The Magnet Theater and UCB with Armando Diaz, Louis Kornfeld, Ed Herbstman, Chris Kelly, Neil Casey, Jet Eveleth, and Adam Wade. Willy is a proud member of Pipeline Theater Company and was recently in Adam Szymkowicz's "Clown Bar", which was a New York Times Critics' Pick. He recently worked as an Associate Producer on The San Francisco Improv Festival and has worked behind the scenes for HBO, The Colbert Report, TBS, Sesame Street, Comedy Central and The Huffington Post.

After living in California for 4 months, he now owns Mango colored Corduroys.
