FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 20th, 2006 – No Filter exposes the seediest
aspect of the entertainment industry: Celebrity journalism. In the
spirit of shows like The Larry Sanders Show and Sports Night, this
improvised parody takes audiences behind the scenes of an entertainment
news show (conveniently called “No Filter”) filled with
characters who are about as ridiculous as the celebrities they cover.
In the course of a single day of production, the interns, reporters,
hosts, and producers of “No Filter” delve into love
troubles, career choices, and cases of outlandish vanity –
only stopping to cover the same topics in the lives of celebrities.
No Filter is directed by Second City mainstage alumni
and current Magnet Theater instructor Rachel Hamilton and features
an accomplished cast that includes Jonathan Brown-Tea, Vincent Dunleavy,
Michelle Fix, Melanie Girton Hewett, Patrick McCaffrey, Kelly Moylan,
Stephanie Mnookin, Duncan Murdoch, Rocco Turso, and Matthew Weiss.
No Filter premieres on Friday, April 7th at 9:30 PM
and runs each Friday through May 26th. Tickets for No Filter are
seven dollars at the door and can be reserved in advance by calling
Magnet Theater at 212-244-8824. Magnet is located at 254 W. 29th
St. between 7th and 8th Ave. For more information on No Filter,
please visit www.nofiltertv.com. Other show listings and course
offerings at Magnet can be found at www.magnettheater.com. Questions
and press inquiries regarding this event should be emailed to Producer
Scott Sherman at scott@magnettheater.com.
