Between Takeoff and Landing
In a solo show based on a true story, Michael humorously recounts four days stranded with 6,000 airline travelers in Gander, Newfoundland. His flight Aer Lingus flight 105, traveling from Dublin to New York, is grounded when U.S. airspace became closed by the tragic events of September 11th. This remote Canadian town of 10,000 was turned into the largest, makeshift airport terminal in the world. New Yorker Michael and his fellow Irish passengers have been housed in the local Elks Lodge, and while waiting to resume their travels and lives, they examine Gander, the world...and themselves.
