Gary Rudoren

Instructor

Bio

Gary is an alumni of The Annoyance Theatre in Chicago where he acted/directed/wrote/taught for about 20 years. Some of the original plays that he’s created as a director/co-writer include: God in a Box; Ayn Rand Gives Me A Boner; I’m 27, I Still Live At Home and I Sell Office Supplies; A Huge Horrible Failure; The Idiotic Death of Two Fools; The Ate Monologues; Jim Carrane Is Living In A Dwarf’s House and many others. His one-man play; “So, I Killed A Few People…” created with David Summers, has been produced all over the world and has been published in the theater anthology; Plays & Playwrights for the New Millennium. He is also the co-author, along with Eric Hoffman, of the well-regarded comedy bible COMEDY BY THE NUMBERS (published by McSweeneys). Gary has taught writing for solo performing for over 15 years at The Annoyance and The Second City and has loved teaching at The Magnet since 2007, where he created the ME ME ME class. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his wife Jodi in a household ruled by their twins.

His name used to be Gary Ruderman, and while that’s a whole other story, that bio would be strikingly similar to the one you’ve just finished reading now.
