Russ Armstrong

Bio

Russ is a proud native of the Midwest currently honeymooning New York. He began improvising at iO and Second City in Chicago and The Magnet and UCB in New York. He is an Emmy-Nominated writer who has written and produced for Comedy Central ("Night of Too Many Stars" hosted by Jon Stewart), Details Magazine (Southern Mothers) and Jean Doumanian ("Superior Donuts" by Tracy Letts). As an actor, Russ can be seen in upcoming series for Comedy Central and on NBC's "30 Rock" and the indie feature "Northeast" and heard on NPR's Studio360. He has performed in comedy festivals in Chicago, Charleston, Edmonton, New York, Atlanta and Toronto. He co-created Statues of Liberty (Time Out New York Critic's Pick) and has performed a bucketload with 4Track and Gimme the Loot. Currently Russ plays with The Friday Night Sh*w (New York Magazine Critic's Pick), Megawatt, Magnet TourCo and Key Party at UCB. Russ has had the pleasure of directing groups like Chet Watkins, SMIRK, Elsie Jay and many others.

Russ lives in Brooklyn with a lady and a dog named Batman and enjoys beer and coffee and athletics as much as any man.
